When I was a student, I was told that if you manage to save even one person in your entire working career, you can retire happily! I have helped hundreds. Based on the feedback I've received, I've saved quite a few.

I have worked for more than 22 years as a teacher of middle school-aged special students, 20 of which in child protection. I started as an immediate supervisor in the mid-2000s at the same time as I became a member of the management team. Has experience working on the board since 2011 and chairman of the management team since 2014.

In February 2021, I founded my own company and in December 2023 I graduated as a Management supervisor, STOry, with the title CSLE®, Certified Supervisor and Coach of Leaders and Executives®

Leadership Coaching and Deep Leadership

After a few years of experience as a special education teacher, I noticed that many of my students became enthusiastic about studying, discovered hidden resources within themselves, and began to see their future as worth striving for. What in my work made this possible? I found the answer in 2012 when I came across Vesa Nissinen's book Deep Leadership and his dissertation. The world opened up clearly before me, and many pieces fell into place. Unknowingly, I had been applying the cornerstones of Deep Leadership in my work: building trust, showing appreciation, enabling learning, and fostering an inspiring approach. This marked the beginning of my conscious growth journey into the world of Deep Leadership. I took a significant step forward on this path in the spring of 2020 when I signed a coaching agreement with Deep Lead Ltd. Today, I conduct coaching sessions through my own company as a coaching partner for Deep Lead Ltd.

Safety Training for the Education Sector

In educational work, situations sometimes arise where, despite all preventive measures, physical restraint methods must be used within the limits of the law. As a professional educator, I applied my experience in martial arts and the security field to child welfare and school environments. I began conducting regular safety training at my workplace in the 2010s, and I have continued to develop it to this day. The techniques and tactics are based on those used by security authorities. The theoretical foundation lies in understanding the origins of stress reactions, learning to manage them, and reducing them.

Sports

Sports provide an excellent environment for someone like me who thrives on setting goals. From a young age, I’ve engaged in a variety of physical activities, but strength sports captivated me the most. I have achieved over 30 podium finishes from the Finnish national level and beyond, with the most significant being three victories in the World’s Strongest Man competition in the under 105kg category. I’ve shared my personal expertise by coaching Niko Vesterinen to become Finland’s Strongest Man twice. Additionally, I’ve worked as a strength and conditioning coach in sports like ice hockey and weightlifting.

Natural sports have been a given for me since the age of 18 when I faced a personal moral dilemma over a cup of coffee. Beside me was a plastic bag filled with banned substances, and at that moment, I decided never to touch them. It was a moment of truth that I believe has been one of the most significant decisions in my life so far. That decision set clear guidelines for my future path, and I haven’t had to consider cheating in any other aspect of life either.

"Roteva" is a finnish word, that can be translated e.g. robust, stalwart etc. For us it is more like resilience and good will. It  is the state of mind that we strive for. It achieves goals, wins and changes the world in an ethical and sustainable way.
